HSS Engineers' consortium wins contract for LSS PV plant in Perak

KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Engineers Bhd has announced that the partnership between its wholly-owned subsidiary HEB Energy Sdn Bhd and Unique Fire Holdings Bhd has secured a contract for the development of a 95MW large scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Hilir Perak, Perak.

In a bourse filing, the group said the consortium will incorporate a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to undertake the award from the Energy Commission (EC). HSS Engineers will own 40% of the equity in the SPV while Unique Fire will hold the remaining 60%.

The consortium had the winning bid after submitting its proposal under Package 3, which covers the 30 MWAC to 500 MWAC category, and was subsequently selected as a shortlisted bidder by the EC.

It said the solar power purchase agreement will be inked with Tenaga Nasional Bhd for a term of 21 years.

The commercial operation date is scheduled for Oct 11, 2027.

The project is expected to contribute positively to the revenue, earnings and net assets of HEB Group for financial years ending Dec 31, 2027, to Dec 31, 2048.
