HSS secures solar contract in Perak


PETALING JAYA: HSS Engineers Bhd has announced that the partnership between its wholly-owned subsidiary HEB Energy Sdn Bhd and Unique Fire Holdings Bhd has secured a contract for the development of a 95MW large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Hilir Perak.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the engineering and project management services company said the consortium will incorporate a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) to undertake the award from the Energy Commission (EC).

HSS Engineers will own 40% of the equity in the SPV, while Unique Fire will hold the remaining 60%.

It said the solar power purchase agreement will be inked with Tenaga Nasional Bhd for a term of 21 years.

The commercial operation date is scheduled for Oct 11, 2027.
