KUALA LUMPUR: Citi has appointed SP Mohanty as treasury and trade solutions head for Malaysia, effective immediately.
In a statement, the bank said Mohanty reports to Mridula Iyer, head of treasury and trade solutions, Asia South, and Citi country officer and banking head for Malaysia, Vikram Singh.
As head of treasury and trade solutions, Mohanty leads the growth of Citi’s payments, liquidity management services, and trade and working capital solutions businesses in Malaysia.
Mohanty, a seasoned banker with over 16 years of experience, joins from HSBC, where he was head of international banking, NBFI, and New Economy for HSBC Thailand.
He started his career with HSBC India and later held leadership roles in Singapore, Mauritius, and Thailand.
“With Malaysia’s dynamic business environment and position as a very attractive investment destination, I am confident Mohanty’s leadership will be instrumental in delivering integrated solutions to our clients and supporting their key priorities and growth plans,” Vikram said.
