Kawan Renergy targets strong earnings, new contracts

PETALING JAYA: Kawan Renergy Bhd expects to continue delivering strong earnings from its RM100.3mil outstanding order book, while securing new contracts.

In a statement, managing director Lim Thou Lai said the group will focus on securing more job opportunities following recent production process upgrades that further enhanced its technical capabilities and cost competitiveness.

“The country’s data centre pipeline remains robust with 38 projects contributing a maximum power demand of 5.9GW in 2024. We are optimistic of higher order book growth moving forward,” he said.

For the first quarter ended Jan 31, 2025 (1Q25), Kawan Renergy’s net profit rose to RM4.93mil from RM4.2mil in 1Q24, while revenue grew to RM29.33mil, an increase of 47% compared to RM19.95mil in the previous corresponding period.

The engineering solutions provider said the better performance was due to a higher recognition of progress milestones of its industrial process plant job contract.

It noted that revenue from its industrial process equipment segment grew by a commendable 28% year-on-year, while revenue from the industrial process plant segment surged by 144.6%.
