Navigating a bull market as a retail investor

I WAS at an event recently and a young remisier spoke to me about the market. Considering the stock market has done very well this year, I assumed she was having a wonderful year too.

To my surprise, she mentioned it has been a downtrodden year for her, as many of her clients (mostly retail investors) were cashing out of stocks rather than reinvesting or trading.
