Better governance, but more can be done


THE Securities Commission (SC) recently released the Corporate Governance Monitor 2024 (CGM), which reviewed the corporate governance practices of 1,010 companies as of Oct 1, 2024.

According to this year’s report, the total number of directors has now increased to 5,762, a 2.7% improvement year-on-year (y-o-y). Of these, 1,495 are women directors, an increase of 7.2% y-o-y.
