One of the latest swanky Thai outposts to open in the Klang Valley, M Dining, is founded and curated by chef Wilson Teh who brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked at the award-winning Thai restaurant Longrain in Melbourne, Australia.
Located on the first floor of a shoplot in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, the restaurant offers a cozy dining area with private rooms as well for diners. They’ve managed to create an inviting space with simple yet elegant decor, and the tagline “Eat outside the box” at the entrance gives an indication of what’s in their menu.
It was a wonderful night of dining at this pork-free restaurant, getting to know a different side to Thai cuisine other than the usual pandan chicken and green curry. And they have the cutest drinks!

We really loved their Double Delight Poultry, which was chicken in coconut chilli jam sauce, accompanied by pickled papaya and cashew nuts. This was twice-cooked seaweed chicken, initially sous vide until nicely tender, then char-grilled. One of our favourite dishes of the night.
Sunshine Corn Salad done Thai som tom style – spicy, sour, sweet – a real pick-me-up.
The Palm Sugar Bliss with tropical fruit is a must try if you're hankering for something sweet after dinner. Comes with sago pearls, red dragon fruit and diced mango and not too sweet.
Symphony of Flavours: Thai-Korean Fusion Basil Chicken Bibimbap that's an innovative take combining the vibrant essence of Thai pad kra pow with the popular Korean Bibimbap. Cooked with succulent minced chicken stir-fried with aromatic basil, topped with a fried egg and served in a sizzling hot stone bowl with steamed rice, this was both familiar and comforting.
Panang Curry Pleasure – slow-cooked Australian lamb shank with apple eggplant, potatoes and peanuts. This is a modernised version of the typical Thai Panang curry, featuring a nicely balanced savoury yet sweetish thick rich curry – so delicious! You can choose to customise the spice level for this dish.
Can’t go wrong with Crab Delight Slider. Crunchy, crispy soft-shell crab lightly fried in batter, in between soft pillowy buns, with refreshing salad and tangy tomyum mayo for that slightly spicy kick – we enjoyed this starter plate.
The Salmon Paradise with Fragrant Red Curry is delicately encased in a banana leaf with curry, crispy rice paper, and Thai basil. Fusion at its best, you get a nice mix of textures and delightful aroma.
