Burgers from Bengaluru to Bucharest served in Melaka cafe

The five burgers on the Melaka menu to celebrate the return of the World Burger Tour competition.

In HONOUR of Hard Rock International Founders’ Day, Hard Rock Cafe locations around the world, including Hard Rock Cafe Melaka, have debuted five culturally-inspired burgers.

These new creations are on the menu at the Melaka restaurant for a limited time as part of the return of the World Burger Tour competition.

Among these are the Bengalaru Burger which is a creation of Hard Rock Cafe Bengaluru, India.

With cheddar cheese, sweet and spicy pickled mayonnaise, black bean corn salsa, roasted jalapeno, guacamole and shredded lettuce, the burger’s core is a 198g steak.

A steak of the same weight is the main part of the Bucharest Burger that has been developed by Hard Rock Cafe Bucharest, Romania.

This Romanian creation is further flavoured by garlic horseradish aioli, marinated camembert cheese, tomato, smoked shoestring onions, frisee lettuce and cranberry jam.

The Gramado Burger – devised by Hard Rock Cafe Gramado, Brazil – features a burger steak garnished by garlic aioli, crispy mozzarella cheese fritter, beef bacon jam and arugula.

From the heights of Hard Rock Cafe Kathmandu, Nepal, comes a burger with two smashed and stacked burger patties.

The Kathmandu Burger also comes with sweet chilli mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, caramelised onions, avocado and tomato zucchini slaw.

A similar smashed-and-stacked version is served up by Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh, United States.

The cafe’s legendary sauce, smoked beef bacon, pickles, cheese sauce, beef bacon jam, American cheese and French fries are what sets it apart.

This year’s World Burger Tour competition began with an initial round of over 150 new burgers developed by Hard Rock Cafe chefs around the world.

The aim of the contest was to be inspired by burger ingredients of cultures and tastes unique to the various branches of the cafe.

Five top finalists were chosen based on sales performance, guest preference and culinary taste testing of the burgers at their originating location earlier this year.

These top creations are now in the final round where they are being added for a limited time to all Hard Rock Cafe menus through to Sept 2.

“At Hard Rock Cafe Melaka, we draw inspiration from the cultural and historical significance of Melaka,” said general manager Dave Sidhu.

“We hope our guests love trying the limited-time burgers through Hard Rock’s World Burger Tour competition, and that their favorite burger makes it on the global menu!

“We are thrilled to use Hard Rock Cafe Melaka as one of the many places to showcase Hard Rock flavours from around the globe,” he said.

Additionally, guests can register for Unity by Hard Rock, a global loyalty programme that offers benefits and services at participating Hard Rock locations.

These include Hard Rock Cafe Melaka, where members can earn and redeem Unity Points toward dining experiences.

Promotions, discounts and complimentary birthday desserts are some of the member benefits at participating Hard Rock properties.
