Lovers of lamb, beef and seafood in for a treat with delectable desserts too this season

It is a time to be jolly with festive offerings this Christmas.

At Fairway Coffee House of M Resort & Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the culinary team has crafted an extravagant feast that captures the essence of the season, featuring an array of sumptuous dishes and festive treats for its Merry Moments promotion.

Lamb Shepherd’s Pie, New York Mini Beef Steak with Chimichurri Sauce, roasted turkey and salmon Wellington are among meat dishes offered for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Buffet High-Tea.

M Resort executive chef Irwin Chan said visitors should look forward to the newly introduced Salmon Wellington and roasted turkey.

“The Salmon Wellington is encased in puff pastry and filled with a combination of ground mushrooms, chicken ham and turkey slices, all enveloping the salmon along with a layer of halibut paste.

“We encountered challenges procuring turkey in the past.

“However, this year, we have successfully obtained halal turkey meat. Other than that, visitors should look out for the OP Ribs,” he added.

The delicate pastry of the Salmon Wellington yields effortlessly at the touch of a spoon. Accompanied by a creamy sauce, the taste was an uncommon combination but nevertheless good.

The restaurant also offers a service to shuck fresh Irish oysters for patrons – a convenient feature that will be available during the upcoming Merry Moment promotion.

The Lychee Choux – a cream puff with a tinge of lychee – is a delight.

The unique lychee taste unfolds only when you reach the centre of the cream puff.

While I’m typically not a fan of carrot cakes, the fusion of the mango carrot cake genuinely surprised me.

The addition of mango brings a remarkable balance to the taste, intertwining the sweet, tropical notes of mango with the earthy richness of carrot.

M Resort pastry chef Abu Hamidy recommends guests to especially try the Chestnut Buche De Noel and the Lychee Croux.

The buffet was an exquisite feast of savoury meats and the most decadent desserts, elevating the establishment to a definite return-worthy dining experience.

The high-tea includes Lamb Shepherd’s Pie, New York Mini Beef Steak with Chimichurri Sauce, roasted turkey, salmon Wellington, rojak, assorted sushi, Pumpkin Chestnut Soup, carrot cake, yong tau foo, dim sum, Ayam Masak Tomato, Fish Tikka and satay.

Must-try for the dinner are Seafood on Ice, assorted sashimi, Smoke Duck Pizza, Korean Chicken Wing, Kam Heong Clam and Cockle, Assorted Double-Boiled Soup, Kerala Fish Curry, Murgh Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken), Oden, Seafood Napolitana, Traditional Lamb Stew with Vegetable, Grilled Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce, and Ratatouille.

Among the desserts served are Fraisier Buche De Noel Black Forest Entremet, fruit cake, Panettone, Marzipan Stollen, mince pie, Pistachio Saint Honore, Passion Fruit Kaffir Lime Tart Salted Caramel Financier, Panna Cotta, Almond Tart with Berry Sauce; and the classic Christmas Pudding with Creme Anglaise.

There will be live entertainment, featuring carollers creating an enchanting atmosphere with classic Christmas tunes.

Keep a lookout for a surprise visit from Santa Claus and Santarina, spreading joy and cheer throughout the festive occasion.

The Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner will be from 6.30pm to 10.30pm on Dec 24 and is priced at RM248nett per adult and RM119nett per child (five to 11 years old).

The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Buffet High-Tea will be from noon to 4pm on Dec 24 and 25. The high-tea buffet is priced at RM165nett and RM83nett per child.
