Flame-grilled chicken chain aims to impress with Asian-inspired flavours

‘Come Together For Chicken’ at Chickita in Kuala Lumpur.

A 20-YEAR culinary journey through South-East Asia, renowned for its food capitals, bestowed Australian chef Asif Mehrudeen and wife Eva the idea to create Chickita.

Patrons to Chickita restaurant, which started in Vietnam in 2019, are promised locally sourced fresh ingredients blended with nostalgic, Asian-inspired flavours that Asif cherishes.

It’s an experience that Malaysians can now have as Chickita has entered the local dining scene with the opening of its flagship store at Pavilion Damansara Heights in Kuala Lumpur.

Charles Chan, director of Simple Bites Sdn Bhd which brought Chickita to Malaysia, is confident it will be a hit.

“Malaysians simply love chicken and we truly believe that what Chickita brings to the table is a game-changer.

“‘Come Together For Chicken’ is Chickita’s mantra, which celebrates Asian communal dining culture.

“Chickita is more than being just about chicken.

“It’s a symphony of flavours featuring an array of burgers, wraps and wings all brought to life through flame-grilled cooking,” he said, adding that flame-grilling ensured that each piece of chicken was perfectly tender and infused with naturally smokey flavours.

These dishes can be enjoyed with six signature sauces that include original lemongrass-infused blend, Tamarita’s hot tamarind twist and the well-loved sexy sauce with roasted red chillies.

Its dessert line-up also pays homage to the Malaysian popsicle – Ais Krim Potong.

This timeless favourite presents flavours such as A Classic Twist, Butterfly Frozen Pea Smoothie, and Vanilla Dreams.

Chickita is located at Level 1, Lot 1.03.00, Pavilion Damansara Heights.
