Hotel restaurant sets stage for ‘Viva La Feast’ of authentic flavours

ITALY is a culinary paradise but savouring its authentic dishes here may be a challenge.

A hotel restaurant has brought Italian cuisine to Malaysia’s doorstep with its “Viva La Feast Buffet Dinner” promotion.

Available at Nook in Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral until Aug 30, the spread offers a glimpse into Italy’s gastronomic traditions.

To elevate the dining experience, the hotel has invited chef Faizul Fauzan from Prego Westin Desaru, Johor, as a guest cook.

Faizal and Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral executive chef Muhammad NorHanis Nordin, are eager to welcome patrons.

“Prego Westin Desaru is known for serving authentic Italian dishes.

“We hope to bring those flavours to our guests,” said Muhammad NorHanis.

Start with the main course of Pollo E Funghi (Roasted Chicken with Mushroom Sauce) where succulent roasted chicken meets a rich mushroom sauce.

The chicken’s tenderness is perfect and complemented by the earthy taste of its gravy.

The Pollo Cacciatore offers juicy chicken breast mixed with a creamy charcoal mash and infused with vibrant flavours, thanks to generous amounts of fresh tomatoes and basil.

Not to be missed is Impepata di Cozze E Vongole (Mussels with Tomato Cream Sauce) which is sure to tempt seafood aficionados.

The mussels, coated in a luscious tomato sauce, make for a robust flavour profile that enhances the seafood’s briny quality.

Another must-try is Tuscan Roasted Lamb Leg with Salsa Verde.

The herbaceous and tangy condiment provides a refreshing counterpoint to the rich lamb.

Bursting with sweet and sour flavours is the Stuffed Beancurd with Extraordinary Sauce where the well-seasoned beancurd is paired with a piquant sauce.

Catering to vegetarians is the Parmigiana Di Melanzane (Baked Eggplant Parmigiana), which comprises layers of tender eggplant cooked in rich tomato sauce and served with melted cheese.

It wouldn’t be an Italian spread without lasagna.

The Lasagna Napoletana (Vegetable Lasagna) is thus a welcome treat.

Hearty and delicious, this dish features layers of roasted vegetables and creamy cheese.

For something wholesome yet refreshing, the Agnello In Casseruola (Lamb Stew with Mint Sauce) appeals.

It is a comforting blend of tender lamb and zesty sauce.

Diners may also indulge in pizzas that are available with tomato sauce, beef pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese, or with tomato and basil.

The crust is crispy and serves as a perfect base for the generous toppings.

Health-conscious diners can choose from a variety of salads.

Featuring smoked duck breast, tuna mayo, capers and parsley sauce, the Insalata di Barbabietola is a standout.

For a lighter option, the Insalata di Pollo (Sliced Cooked Chicken Breast with Tarragon Mayonnaise, Gherkins, Tomato and Lettuce) is a good choice.

Fresh gherkins, tomato and lettuce lend a crunchy freshness, balancing the dish perfectly.

Other salads include Pasta Salad with seafood and roasted vegetables, as well as German Sausage Salad with bell pepper, cornichons and green tomato.

To end the dinner, there is a wide array of desserts to choose from.

The Torta Barozzi is a rich indulgence with its moist texture that chocolate lovers will love.

For something citrusy, the Orange Polenta Cake has a slightly grainy texture and is just as delicious.

A classic done exceptionally well, the Tiramisu features layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone.

The combination of fresh strawberries, mascarpone and biscotti makes Strawberry Parfait a delightful concoction.

Another must-try is the Bomboloni, which comes in four flavours — chocolate, marmalade, vanilla and berries.

This dining experience is available from Thursday to Saturday, from 6pm to 10pm, priced at RM148nett.
