Lobster mania

Much like caviar and truffles, lobster is a premium ingredient that most of us salivate over and dream about – from a distance.

The reason is simple: lobster is often beyond our means – even as a special occasion meal. But local chef Isadora Chai of famed Petaling Jaya eatery Bistro à Table is looking at changing this, even if it’s just for August and September 2024.

At her restaurant, Chai is offering Boston lobster veloutte pasta at RM100+ to RM115+ for half lobster (300g to 350g) and whole lobster pasta at RM185+ to RM225+ (600g to 700g). The promotion – which started in August – will continue in September – and now includes menu offerings like salt-baked lobster with herb butter (or chilli coriander) at RM115+ for half lobster.

Portions are limited, so book ahead to avoid disappointment.
