Updated seasonal classics liven up holiday festivities

THIS Christmas, diners can look forward to a festive spread that brings zesty citrus notes to the traditional holiday feast, adding a refreshing spin to familiar favourites.

At The Living Room of The Westin Kuala Lumpur, orange-and-gold hues from its theme “Citrus Wonderland: A Clementine Christmas” set the mood for the flavours that await at the buffet table.

Beginning with an assortment of simple and classic appetisers, the Home-cured Salmon Gravlax offers a delicate, briny bite, while a selection of cold cuts and terrine options make for familiar festive staples.

Seasonal highlights include the buttery Pâté en Croûte, rustic Chicken Meatloaf and savoury Beef Bresaola before one digs into the mains.

Seafood lovers will appreciate the bounty of prawns, mud crabs, clams and black mussels on ice, while salads featuring hydroponic greens such as mesclun, baby spinach, and wild rocket provide a lighter and refreshing option.

Dressings like orange vinaigrette and lemon vinaigrette are also available, a nod to the citrus theme.
