It is International Fairy Day today (June 24), so clap your hands if you believe in fairies (and don’t let Tinker Bell die), as we learn in Peter Pan.

Fairies and their magical worlds, brought to life in literature and art, have captivated us for centuries. We know of those little winged creatures that grant wishes and splash in dewdrops on flower petals, but we are just as familiar with a more sinister version where you would be better off steering clear of their dark magic and vengeful disposition.
