It’s the last call for those still looking for a good scare before the end of October.

Apart from picking what to watch for your horror movie marathon, there are a few "haunted houses", immersive exhibitions and even costume events for you to experience around the Klang Valley.

Here are some events that will get you in the spooky mood:

JUNJI ITO: HOUSE OF HORROR

Venue: LalaPort BBCC, Kuala Lumpur

Date: ends Nov 30

Fans of Junji Ito and horror anime are welcome to check out the horror house and gallery of the renowned Japanese manga artist. Immerse yourself in scenes from the iconic Netflix series: Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales Of The Macabre and Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror.

Junji also reveals his original scripts and drawings for iconic anime and manga creations. At the exhibition, there are two halls for you to choose from (you can pick up a bundle ticket deal to view both). Both halls include iconic scenes – spread across more than 10 rooms – from Junji’s anime and archives that come to life through a creative fusion of artwork, installations and special effects.

The two paths eventually lead to the gallery, where participants can further immerse themselves in the creations of the artist. Finally, there are also plenty of exclusive merchandise for you to get your hands on.

ONLINE THEATRE: MELUR THE MUSICAL

Date: ends Dec 31

If you're not in the mood for a Halloween night out, then an online theatre show at home might be the next best thing. It helps that the story of Pontianak is in the equation. Liver and Lung, the British-Malaysian theatre company behind the award-winning Sepet The Musical, is presenting a digital release for its Melur The Musical this spooky season.

Melur The Musical premiered earlier this year (in February for Valentine's season), with sold out performances at the PJPAC venue. The show, featuring award-winning musical actor Tria Aziz in the titular role, is now available to watch online.

Liver and Lung is streaming a recorded performance of the first act of the show. As a bonus, you can also listen to the show's soundtrack on Spotify for free.

Set in colonial Malaya, during the Malayan Emergency, Melur The Musical depicts the spell-binding story of two women, Melur and Cempaka, as they navigate British rule.

Things take a cruel turn when Cempaka’s husband, the British High Commissioner, commits a murderous crime and the characters experience the wrath of a supernatural creature, now a blood thirsty Pontianak determined for revenge.
