The Phantom Of The Opera made its debut on the West End in London in 1986 and on Broadway in New York in 1988.

It has since played to over 160 million people in 195 cities and in 21 languages, and is the longest-running musical in Broadway.

It has won over 70 theatre awards, including a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 1986 and a Tony Award for Best Musical in 1988.

The Phantom Of The Opera tells the story of the titular disfigured protagonist, who lives in the subterranean labyrinth of an opera house and becomes fixated with a soprano named Christine, whom he kidnaps to live with him in his lair.

This haunting love story stars Jonathan Roxmouth as the Phantom, with Christine played by Grace Roberts. They are joined by a cast of 37 performers from all over the world, including the UK, US, South Africa and Australia. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
