The casting of Gal Gadot as Cleopatra in an upcoming film has launched a debate about the Egyptian ruler's ancestry and whether the actress is right for the role.
The film is to be directed by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) with Gadot as one of the producers. It is being billed as an epic biographical drama.
