The third Czech Film Festival in Kuala Lumpur returns with a selection of family comedies from the past four decades. Presented by the Embassy of Czech Republic in Malaysia, the film festival will be held from Sept 23 to 25 at Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) at Mid Valley.

“Our nation has a unique way to cope with unpleasant, sometimes even deadly, situations. It is our sense of humour, sometimes spiced with irony, which helped us to survive the horrors of occupation during the World War II and then later again during the tough communist regime. Comedy films have therefore a long history in Czech cinematography and are still widely popular,” says Milan Hupcej, ambassador of the Czech Republic to Malaysia.
