In celebration of its 15th anniversary, Suria FM will be broadcasting live from the luxurious Genting Dream ship for four days – beginning Jan 9.

This collaboration with Resorts World Cruises will make Suria the first radio station in Malaysia to hold a live broadcast on a ship.

The cruise ship will depart from Port Klang to Penang, and then to Singapore before making its way back.

According to the chairman of Star Media Radio Group (SMRG), Datuk Dr Mohd Aminuddin Mohd Rouse, Suria will choose five listeners to join them on this trip for free.

“This is part of our effort to strengthen the bond between Suria and its listeners. While numbers (of total weekly listeners) are important, it is also pertinent for a radio station to build meaningful rapport with its dedicated audience,” he said.

Among the activities to look forward to include bowling, rock climbing mini golf and karaoke.

The four-day cruise will feature performances by top local artistes such as Siti Nordiana, Andi Bernadee, Amir Masdi and more.

Suria FM recently ranked as the third most popular radio station in Malaysia, with over 3.5 million weekly listeners, according to the GFK Radio Hearing Measurement survey.

“The success we achieved is a result of the hard work of the Suria team and, of course, the dedication of our listeners.

"We will continue delivering content that's entertaining and fresh as part of our goal to rise to second place in the next survey (GFK Radio Hearing Measurement survey)," said DJ Lin, the general manager of Suria FM.
