Hong Kong guitarist and swimming coach Li Tingchuan was once renowned for beating “God Of Songs”, Jacky Cheung, in a singing contest held by Happy Tonight in 1983.

However, he gained a rather nasty reputation for himself in 2011 after being accused of molesting a minor.

After 11 years, the shamed guitarist has reportedly pleaded guilty to all four charges of pedophilia and statutory rape on Nov 29.

Hong Kong media reported that Li secretly developed a relationship with his girlfriend’s 13-year-old sister in 2011 after giving her swimming and guitar lessons.

Li allegedly assaulted the 13-year-old four times.

Li was arrested six years later in 2017 but refused to admit to the charges pressed until recently.

Sin Chew reported that the offender confessed being aware about the age gap, but he “couldn’t contain his feelings” and even had plans on marrying the minor once she grew up.

Li will be detained until Dec 14 for his court hearing.

According to HK01, Li requested for a psychological report during his detainment period, claiming that he suffers from dementia.

Li said he hopes to receive a lighter sentence due to his alleged psychological problems.
