Hong Kong singer Steven Cheung’s marriage with model Au Man-man has been on the rocks since the beginning of the year.
Earlier in January, the model announced her divorce from the 38-year-old Cantopop singer, but the split never happened as the couple reconciled a few days later.
Cheung also made a post that day announcing a third child.
In October however, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that Au had unfollowed Cheung on Instagram and hid all his photos on her account.
She explained it was because her husband’s account was inactive and shared a video of her together with Cheung and their children at a park in November, hinting that they are still together.
That might not be the case anymore.
On Dec 7, Hong Kong media reported that Au made the "ultimate divorce declaration" after venting about her unhappy marriage on Instagram.
In the lengthy Instagram Story, the model lamented about how she found it hard to communicate with Cheung, adding that she could "no longer tolerate" her husband's personality.
Her statement read: "You think I have mental problems. You think that I am making things up, but I can say this with certainty ... I have reached my limit. This is the bottom line.
"I thought that if I persevered and worked hard to support my children, I would be able to grow up completely. I thought I couldn't live like this anymore but the truth is, I can."
Au then said she is arranging for "something", and that there will be a new start for her in 2023. She also posted a photo of herself with her three sons. Cheung was nowhere to be seen in the photo.
The model's declaration made waves on social media.
However, many netizens aren't convinced that the couple will split. To them, this was just a "publicity stunt to announce their fourth child".
Au has made her Instagram account private since. Cheung has yet to respond to the situation.
