Hong Kong based Malaysian-born actress Vivien Yeo recently welcomed the new year with her family in Malaysia. This is her first time back in two years.

In an Instagram post on New Year’s day, the former TVB actress expressed her happiness reuniting with her parents in Johor after so long.

"I'm so excited to start the new year by returning to Malaysia, my beloved hometown after being away for two years. And this time, I'm not just returning as a daughter, but also as a mother to my two beautiful daughters," Yeo, 38, wrote.

According to Chinapress, the actress hadn't been able to return to her hometown for the past two years due to the pandemic.

Yeo said she was thrilled to bring her daughters along for her return trip now that borders have reopened.

"I can't wait for them (her daughters) to meet my parents and experience all the love and culture that this incredible country has to offer. Here's to a great start in 2023, a year filled with joy and new beginnings for all of us," she wrote.

Sure enough, 2023 seems to be starting off full of joy for Yeo. In an Instagram post last night (Jan 3), the actress shared a series of photos and a video of herself riding a scooter around Johor.

She captioned her post: "I love the feeling of the wind in my hair and the freedom of the open road as I ride my electric scooter. It's been three years since I bought it and I'm so happy it's still functioning so well.

"Sometimes it's the simple pleasures in life that bring us the most happiness!"

Yeo tied the knot with businessman Yip Sai Yeung in 2019 and gave birth to two daughters – one in April 2020 and another in February 2022.

She is currently developing a career in Hong Kong and has been operating a successful beauty business since leaving TVB in 2020.
