Indonesian actress Acha Septriasa recently revealed that she lost her second child after experiencing a miscarriage.

The news comes a month after the 33-year-old announced her pregnancy in December.

In an Instagram post on New Year’s day, the actress said that she lost her baby in the first trimester of her pregnancy.

“We felt deeply saddened. There was a big moment of reflection until now. However, we came back stronger than ever as a family of three,” she wrote.

Despite the sudden and “very much unwanted” news, Acha shared that she will remain strong for the sake of her family.

“My inner strength is knowing when I should take a break, relax and don’t forget to live life,” she said.

In her post, Acha also added a motivational quote from Indian author Amit Ray, who’s known for his teachings on meditation, yoga, peace and compassion.

“It doesn’t matter how long you spend on Earth, how much money you have or how much attention you have received. It’s the amount of positivity you have radiated in life that matters,” the quote goes.

The actress hopes to be the "best wife and mother" for her husband Vicky Kharisma – whom she married in 2016 – and her five-year-old daughter Bridgia Kalina Kharisma.

The actress first rose to fame after starring in the 2006 Indonesian film, Heart. She is set to star alongside Malaysian actor Farid Kamil in the upcoming biopic about Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Jalan Masih Panjang.
