Syamsul Yusof's first wife Puteri Sarah Liyana has a message for the director – she wants to end their nine-year marriage.

The 37-year-old actress said she doesn't want to be married to Syamsul anymore and urges him to let her go.

"To Mohd Shamsul, because you have blocked me until now and haven't discuss (our marital issues), I urge you to let me go because you have failed your responsibility as the head of this family plus you are a toxic and narcissistic husband.

"Me and my kids are done with 4 years of being mentally tortured. We deserve better," Puteri Sarah wrote on Instagram today (Jan 10).

On Jan 6, the 38-year-old Mat Kilau director confirmed via Instagram that he has married 27-year-old Ira Kazar in Thailand with the actress' father present as the guardian.

Syamsul and Puteri Sarah married in 2014 and they share two children – Syaikhul Islam, six, and Summayyah, four.

Puteri Sarah's mother-in-law, Datin Patimah Ismail is supportive of Puteri Sarah's decision. Patimah, who is wife of filmmaker Datuk Yusof Haslam, said Puteri Sarah deserves to be happy.

"Puteri Sarah Liyana has the right to be happy as a wife and a mother... her sacrifices are not appreciated.

"Her happiness has been robbed by them. She's left alone to care for her kids. Is this fair?" Patimah wrote on the comment section of Puteri Sarah's Instagram.

Fans and fellow artistes have also left words of encouragement for Puteri Sarah.

Meanwhile, Syamsul also updated his Instagram today with an old wedding photo of himself with wife No.1 and the recent nuptial photo of himself with wife No.2.

He captioned it: "Morning! Hope both my wives are calm and being patient. Wish only the best for us."
