Looks like the marital conflict between actress Puteri Sarah Liyana and director Syamsul Yusof is set to conclude with a divorce.

According to Puteri Sarah, she will be filing the divorce papers at Mahkamah Syariah Kuala Lumpur on Jan 16.

The 37-year-old said that she wanted to file the papers on Thursday (Jan 12), but had to postpone that intention as she's in the midst of filming at Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

"I will go to Mahkamah Syariah at Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur, on Monday," she told mStar, The Star's Malay language portal.

On Tuesday, Puteri Sarah said on Instagram that she wants to end her eight-year marriage with Syamsul Yusof, calling him "a toxic and narcissistic husband".

"Me and my kids are done with 4 years of being mentally tortured. We deserve better," she wrote.

Syamsul and Puteri Sarah got married in 2014 and they share two children – Syaikhul Islam, six, and Summayyah, four.

Puteri Sarah claimed that the trouble in their marriage started brewing in 2019 when Syamsul, 38, began a relationship with actress Ira Kazar, 27.

It reached a boiling point after the Mat Kilau director finally admitted on Jan 6 that he had married Ira, in Thailand, and that she is his second wife.

Since then, both Puteri Sarah and Syamsul had been sharing their respective viewpoints surrounding the issues in their relationship on Instagram.
