The daughter of Malaysian actress Noralbaniah, Syarra Sudarman, has pleaded guilty to two drug charges on Tuesday (Jan 17).
She is sentenced to 13 months in jail by the Kuala Pilah Magistrate Court and will undergo a three-year monitoring period, The Star's Malay-language portal mStar reported.
According to media reports, Syarra was first charged after police caught her with two packets of syabu weighing up to 1.72g at a hotel in Kuala Pilah at 11.45am on Oct 12, 2022.
On the same day, police charged her a second time for taking amphetamine and methamphetamine at the Narcotics Investigation Unit in the Kuala Pilah Police Station at 3pm.
Of the first offence, the court sentenced the 29-year-old to eight months in jail. She has been serving her time ever since.
On Tuesday (Jan 17), the court added another five months to Syarra’s sentence for the second offence, bringing her jail time to 13 months.
She was charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Syarra is the daughter of Noralbaniah who’s popular in the 1990s for shows such as Adik, Main-main Hantu and First And Last Love.
Noralbaniah, 52, married a racer named Sudarman Daud in 1994. He passed away in a road accident in 1996.
