Hong Kong artiste Andy Lau recently made an appearance on a talk show, Opening Remarks, where he revealed he drinks more than 20 cups of coffee a day.

According to the 61-year-old actor, no other beverage puts him at ease quite like coffee does.

"Drinking other beverages just doesn't work, and I can't have cold drinks too," he said, adding he often get scolded by his family for drinking so much coffee. "I'm not allowed to have coffee at home which is why I like working outside."

According to Sleep Education – an online health portal providing information on sleep, sleeping disorders and treatment options – consuming caffeine at high doses can lead to side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, sweating, muscle tremors and increased heart and breathing rate.

However, the Heavenly King shared that he has never experienced such complications despite downing so much coffee daily.

He even revealed in a past interview that he drinks a cup before going to bed. "It makes me feel relaxed," he explained.

Speaking more about his diet, the Shock Wave 2 actor shared that he has been a vegetarian for the past nine years and is making a habit to work out daily.

"As long as there's no meat, I'll eat it. I use vegetable oil to cook and eat less sugary and salty food." he elaborated.
