K-pop star Henry Lau visits Penang, says he will return to Malaysia soon

Penang has found another celebrity fan. This time around, it is Chinese-Canadian singer-actor Henry Lau who visited Penang on Tuesday (Feb 7).

In an Instagram post, Lau shared a series of photos he took during his visit to George Town with a caption saying, "Finally sunlight! Wassup Malaysia! I'm just here for a day this time but I'll be back soon. Miss you all. Please stay safe and healthy."

The 33-year-old also uploaded a video on his Instagram Story, where he showed his 8.5 million followers the bustling streets of Little India.

"Hey everyone, I'm on the streets of Penang right now ... in Malaysia. I just wanted to say 'hi'.

"I hope ya'll are doing well, especially to all the Malaysian fans. I haven't seen you guys in a while ... miss you! It's beautiful here," the former Super Junior-M member said.

Lau is not the only K-pop star who visited Penang. In fact, the same day also saw South Korean singer Paul Kim, 34, in the state.

On Instagram, Kim uploaded four photos of himself posing in front of the sea with a caption that read, "What's up Penang?"

Many fans on Twitter speculate that the two could be filming for the fifth season of Begin Again, a variety show where reputable musicians from South Korea travel overseas and hold busking events for people who don't know anything about them.

Lau appeared in the second, third and fourth season of the show where he travelled to countries like Portugal, Hungary and Italy for busking.

Meanwhile, Kim appeared in the third season where he held a busking event in Germany and Netherlands.

In recent months stars such as Hong Kong celebrity couple Ruco Chan and Phoebe Sin as well as Hong Kong actor Philip Keung were spotted vacationing in Penang.
