After people across social media slammed Leonardo DiCaprio for supposedly taking his penchant for pretty, young models too far by dating a 19-year-old, a source close to the 48-year-old actor has come forward to deny such rumours.
No, DiCaprio’s source told TMZ Tuesday (Feb 7), the actor is not dating Paris-born model Eden Polani.
Rumours began to spread that DiCaprio had turned his attention from 23-year-old Victoria Lamas, his latest reported girlfriend, to the even younger Polani.
The rumours erupted after the Oscar winner was seated next to Polani at singer Ebony Riley’s release party for her new EP on Jan.31, TMZ said. Lamas was nowhere to be seen.
While DiCaprio’s relationship history shows that he’s never been known to date a woman older than 25, people on Twitter expressed horror that the actor would date someone as young as 19, the Daily Mail reported.
People noted that she’s young enough to have had her high school education interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and to be born after DiCaprio became a movie heartthrob when he starred in the 1997 film “Titanic.”
But the rep for DiCaprio made it clear to TMZ: Just because DiCaprio might be seen talking to or sitting next to a young woman doesn’t mean he’s dating her.
Over the past few months, DiCaprio has been seen in the company of plenty of attractive young women since he ended his four-year relationship with model and actor Camila Morrone.
That relationship ended in August – around the time that Morrone turned 25.
Since then, the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star has been been linked to Lamas, but he’s also been spotted vacationing on a luxury yacht in St. Barts, surrounded by women in bikinis, TMZ said.
DiCaprio briefly ventured beyond his usual type by reportedly spending time with Gigi Hadid in September. Yes, Hadid is a very famous model, but she’s also 27.
Moreover, Hadid is the mother of a two-year-old daughter, which probably represented more responsibility than the carefree DiCaprio would want to take on. – The Mercury News/Tribune News Network
