Malaysia’s Aqil Zulkiflee named Favourite Asian Creator at Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

Hosted by Nate Burleson and Chari D’Amelio, the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took place on Saturday (March 4) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Fans in Malaysia can catch the award show on Wednesday at 6.30pm on the Nickelodeon channel.

Check out the show-stopping opening performance by Bebe Rexha and a special honour presented to actor Adam Sandler.

Sandler received the Special King of Comedy Silver Blimp award, while seated at a giant throne on stage. Of course, he got hit by Nickelodeon’s iconic Slime before too long.

Some of other winners were BTS – winning the Favourite Music Group for the fourth consecutive win, breaking its own record for the most blimps won by a music group – Harry Styles and Malaysia’s Aqil Zulkiflee.

The Malaysian YouTuber was nominated along with Gen Halilintar (Indonesia), HIKAKIN (Japan) and Niana Guerrero (Philippines).

For the Lifetime Achievement Award, it went to Transformers’ leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime!

Cast members of the upcoming sci-fi action film Transformers: Rise Of the Beasts Pete Davidson, Dominique Fishback and Anthony Ramos presented the award.

According to the list of winners, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 was named Favourite Movie, Wednesday as the Favourite Family TV Show, and its star Jenna Ortega as the Favourite Female TV Star (Family).

SpongeBob Squarepants as the Favourite Animated Show and actress Millie Brown Brown bagged the Favorite Movie Actress award for Enola Holmes, and Enola Holmes 2.
