Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh was the toast of London town on Sunday (March 26) night when her manager threw her a party to celebrate her recent Oscar win.
The party, hosted by Yeoh's manager David Unger, was held at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park's restaurant, The Aubrey.
The bash was attended by a host of A-list stars including Yeoh's Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, supermodel Naomi Campbell, The Queen's Gambit actress Anya Taylor-Joy and Crazy Rich Asians' and Wicked director Jon M. Chu.
Also present was Yeoh's partner Jean Todt.
"Thkq David Unger and MO for such a Fab fab surprise of an evening," Yeoh, 60, wrote on her Instagram accompanied by some photos from the party.
Grande also posted several photos on her Instagram, with one stating: "We love you so much @michelleyeoh_official it hurts."
According to UK's Evening Standard, Yeoh wore a beige, jersey dress from Off-White with a cream and sequin embroidered jacket to the soiree honouring her. And the cocktail served to guests was aptly named "The Golden Man", a nod to Yeoh's recent Oscar win.
On March 12, the Ipoh-born star became the first actress of Asian descent to win in the Best Actress category in the Academy's 95-year history. She's also the first Malaysian to be nominated and win in the Academy Awards.
Yeoh is currently in London to shoot the film adaptation of the musical Wicked where she is playing the role of Madam Morrible.
The Malaysian actress said she is working with a vocal coach for her role as she is required to sing.
“I went in thinking this is going to be so scary – they’re going to recast me when they hear me (sing). But I am having so much fun!” she told Variety.
She is expected to sing The Wizard And I with Erivo, who is portraying Elphaba.
Wicked: Part One will be released in December 2024, while the second part comes out in 2025.
