After receiving the Anime Fan Award at the Tokyo Anime Awards Festival 2023 last month, animation company Monsta continues to make its mark on the global scene with its main account on YouTube, Monsta Channel, being awarded the 'Diamond Play Button' for reaching 10 million subscribers.
Monsta, which is the largest animation company in Southeast Asia, first established a foothold on YouTube in 2014 when it uploaded its BoBoiBoy animated shows on the Monsta Channel account for public viewing.
"Monsta Channel has now grown into an internationally-renowned animation hub that features not only Monsta original series such as Mechamato, Papa Pipi, and Fly With Yaya but also popular animations such as Pokémon, Beyblade, and Molang," the company said in a statement on Friday.
Monsta Channel has also expanded the use of the platform to interact with viewers and fans from all over the world, sharing reaction videos, video games, original Official Soundtracks (OST) of each of its intellectual properties and animated comics.
Monsta Channel reached its first 100,000 subscribers on April 2, 2015, followed by one million subscribers on June 11, 2017 and reached 10 million in December last year.
Monsta Channel is one of the three Monsta Network accounts that are in the ‘Top 10 Most Successful YouTube Channels' in Malaysia.
"This makes Monsta Network the largest YouTube channel network in the country. Animasea and Mini Monsta accounts belonging to the Monsta company are expected to receive the same Diamond Play Button in the future when they reach 10 million subscribers," the company said.
Monsta chief executive officer Nizam Abd Razak thanked everyone for their support in successfully achieving the Diamond Play Button through a Facebook post as well. – Bernama
