Malaysian radio announcer, Shuleen from Ai FM, recently revealed that she got into a car accident while on the way to Johor.

In a Facebook post on April 7, Shuleen shared a photo of the injuries she sustained after getting thrown from the backseat to the dashboard after not fastening her seat belt.

In the pictures, the deejay can be seen with bruises littered across her eyes and back.

“The pain of physical injuries, the distress of psychological trauma. You don't want to experience this, not even once,” she wrote.

In her post, Shuleen recounted the moments leading up to the accident. According to her, she was asleep at the time and wasn’t too sure how it happened.

However, China Press reported that the driver was trying to avoid a small animal that suddenly ran on the road when they swerved and crashed into a nearby swamp.

“In a blink of an eye, I was thrown to the front dashboard from (the) rear seat,” the deejay added.

Thankfully, Shuleen said she’s recuperating well in the hospital. She also urged for everyone to fasten their seat belts, even if they were in the rear seat.

It’s worth mentioning that the usage of backseat seat belts among Malaysians is still very low.

In 2021, Bernama reported that a study from the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety (MIROS) found that only 11% of Malaysians use rear seat safety belts.
