Swifties won’t have to wait much longer for 'Taylor’s Versions' of Back to December, Mine and The Story of Us.
Taylor Swift’s re-recording of her third studio album, Speak Now, will be released on July 7, the pop superstar officially announced at a concert Friday in Nashville.
"I thought I would just show you. So, if you direct your attention to the backstage screens we have," she said as a graphic revealed the news behind her, much to the delight of the nearly 71,000 fans in attendance at Nissan Stadium.
Swift followed up by performing her first surprise song of the night, Sparks Fly, the fifth single from Speak Now and which hit No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2010.
"I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness,’" Swift wrote in an accompanying announcement on social media. "I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing ... and living to speak about it."
The singer also revealed Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will include six additional songs sprung loose from the vault. The disc, which includes the hits Mean and Ours, as well as fan favorites such as Enchanted and Last Kiss, will be her third re-released album following Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021.
The 12-time Grammy winner is in the process of re-recording her first six studio albums after her former record label Big Machine Records sold the master recordings of her first six studio albums to a private equity firm.
