Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung once again proves why he’s called the God Of Songs.
In just two hours, tickets for all his six shows at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil – which went on sale at 10am today (May 26) on my.bookmyshow.com/ – have been snapped up.
Tickets for the Jacky Cheung 60+ Concert Tour sold out at noon whereas general tickets for British rock band Coldplay’s upcoming Nov 22 concert were sold out in just over three hours, at 1.07pm.
The Cantopop star’s achievement is more impressive considering he did not have a pre-sale.
Meanwhile, pre-sale tickets for Coldplay’s KL gig broke the record of having more than 400,000 fans in GoLive Asia’s virtual queue, which is the biggest in the platform’s history.
Taking to Facebook to announce the news, Cheung's concert organiser Unusual Entertainment thanked the public for their support towards the concert, which will be held over two weekends – Aug 11, 12, 13 and Aug 18,19 and 20.
However, many fans who tried their luck at nabbing a ticket but failed took to the comment section on Unusual Entertainment’s Facebook page to voice out their grievances.
Some claimed that they had been stuck in the online queue since 10am and urged the organisers to improve its ticketing system.
“Expected arrival time on website: More than an hour? After how many hours (will we get to the) buying page?” one user complained.
“I entered the queue at 10am but the waiting time is still one hour,” another said.
One netizen added: “Most people, the genuine ones, won’t be able to get any tickets Unusual Entertainment Pte Ltd is selling because after 45 minutes, the waiting line is still the same.”
The cheapest ticket for Cheung's concert is RM388 for Category 3, while the VIP ticket is priced at RM1,188. Tickets for Categories 1 and 2 are priced at RM988 and RM688 respectively.
