On its first day of release, May 25, Polis Evo 3 earned an impressive amount of RM3.4mil.

According to a report by mStar – The Star’s Malay-language portal – this number was double of what Hollywood movie Fast X earned that day.

Now, just after four days of playing at cinemas nationwide, Polis Evo 3 has raked in RM16mil at the box office.

In a press statement, Astro Shaw shared that the film directed by Syafiq Yusof broke the record set by Syamsul Yusof’s Mat Kilau (2022), which earned RM12.2mil after four days at the cinemas.

Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, the executive producer of Polis Evo 3 and Vice President, Malay Nusantara Business & Head of Astro Shaw, thanked the fans for supporting the local film.

She said: “It is your support that spurs Malaysian films to continue to raise the bar to an international level.”

Previous Polis Evo films did just as well at the box office. Polis Evo (2015) was the first local film to collect over RM18mil at the box office, while Polis Evo 2 (2018) collected RM23mil.

Currently, Polis Evo 3 actors Shaheizy Sam, Zizan Razak, Sharnaaz Ahmad and Syafiq Kyle are also adding their personal touch to the film by making appearances at various locations around Malaysia and in Singapore.
