Local actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan has been admitted to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia due to a urinary tract infection.
According to mStar, The Star’s Malay language news portal, Jalaluddin had been holding in his pain since last week and was warded at the hospital on Wednesday (June 21).
“I was only receiving treatment from my nephew who’s also a doctor. At first, it felt as if I had recovered.
“I felt no pain during urination and decided to continue with my work in Mega Spontan (a television programme).
“Little did I know, this infection required treatment in a hospital,” the 69-year-old said.
During the interview, Jalaluddin expressed regret for making light of his infection to the point it became serious.
“I was wrong for not taking this infection seriously. My nephew also advised me to seek treatment at the hospital but I told him I had plenty of work to finish.
“He was disappointed in me because this type of infection can’t be treated by just consuming medicine,” the former Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host added.
Updating fans on his health, Jalaluddin assured that he is recuperating well.
However, he reiterated that he still needs to undergo several medical procedures before he can get discharged.
“I am doing well now and taking my antibiotics. The doctor will also do checkups to see if any other part of my body had been affected (by the infection).
“For the time being, I have been advised to rest,” he concluded.
