Eight-part suspense thriller titled Lies Hidden In My Garden features actresses Kim Tae-hee and Lim Ji-yeon as two women who lead very different lives only to become entangled somewhere along the way.

Lim – who gave a remarkable performance as the villain in the hit revenge series The Glory – is once again extraordinary as a victim of domestic violence in this new K-drama that's based on a best-selling novel of the same name.

During an online interview, the 33-year-old said she was immediately drawn to her character Cha Sang-eun, and wanted to immerse herself in the character completely.

To do this, Lim told StarLifestyle that she turned to the original source as a point of reference.

“Reading the novel, I was able to get a lot of hints about Sang-eun,” said Lim, who is in a romantic relationship with The Glory co-star Lee Do-hyun,

Putting herself in Sang-eun's shoes while reading the book, Lim says she constantly questioned everything as Sang-eun, focusing on the dynamics between her and the other characters in the story.

This, she says, helped her a lot especially when she got to the set.

“When Sang-eun meets the other characters, the reactions and the dynamics all sort of organically came out of me.

"I just wanted to be Sang-eun from head to toe – her voice, how she moved, the way she acted – I wanted it all to be uniquely Sang-eun.”

Judging from her performance, she's managed just that.

Lies Hidden In My Garden is available on Prime Video, with new episodes streaming on Mondays and Tuesdays at 11pm.
