HK actor Sean Lau's wife Amy Kwok buys an apartment unit for RM38mil

Retired Hong Kong actress Amy Kwok, the wife of award-winning actor Sean Lau, recently made headlines after spending millions on an apartment unit.

According to reports, Kwok, 55, forked out HK$64.8mil (RM38.6mil) to purchase a property at Residence Bel-Air, a popular luxurious estate in Pok Fu Lam in Hong Kong.

It is understood that the property, which has a unit area of 1,741 sq ft, comes with four bedrooms, two suites and a maid's room. The transaction also includes a parking space.

HK01 reported that the unit was previously sold to someone for HK$40.6mil in 2010, and they held onto the property for 13 years before selling it.

Kwok and Lau, who got married in 1998, are well-known real estate investors.

In 2006, the celebrity couple purchased a 1,190 sq ft apartment unit in Residence Bel-Air for HK$10.3mil and made HK$10.2mil in profit after selling the property for HK$20.5mil in 2014.

The same year also saw them forking out HK$32.8mil to purchase a house at Sea View Villa in Sai Kung.

Kwok debuted as an actress in the 1985 horror film, The Island.

She rose to fame after being crowned Miss Hong Kong in 1991 and is best known for her performance in the hit TVB series, The Greed Of Man (1992), where she starred opposite her husband.
