Popular Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh arrived in Malaysia last week for her new drama, The Inheritor Of Modern Dynasty, Sin Chew reported.

According to the publication, the series will be filmed here for two months, with most of the scenes taking place around Kuala Lumpur.

On the day of Sheh's arrival, many fans gathered at the airport to greet and catch a glimpse of the former TVB star.

The crowd could also be heard screaming, "Charmaine Sheh, welcome to Malaysia! We love you!"

The 48-year-old was all smiles as she made a finger heart and obliged to requests for photographs and autographs.

She also received tons of gifts including bouquets of flowers and a durian cake.

Since she was unable to bring the cake back to the hotel due to its strong smell, Sheh decided to consume it in her car.

In an update on Chinese social networking site Xiaohongshu, the actress shared a video of herself cutting and eating the cake in her car.

"First thing (I did) after coming out of the plane is eat a durian cake. The smell of (the durian) in the car is so strong. It tastes delicious!" she said.

At a recent press conference to promote her new drama, Sheh also expressed desire to eat crabs, prawn noodles and more durians in Malaysia.

Sheh's new drama is the sequel to the popular 2022 series, Modern Dynasty, though its plot is not related to its predecessor.

The series also stars Him Law, Raymond Lam, Hugo Ng and Benz Hui.
