British comedian and TV host James Corden has sold his Los Angeles mansion for US$17mil (RM76.8mil) in an all-cash deal.
Corden, 44, handed over his keys to LeeAnn Akouri-Shan, the daughter of Hong Kong billionaire Weijian Shan, who is considered as one of Asia's most well-connected financiers.
According to South China Morning Post, Corden's seven-bedroom home was first listed in February with an asking price of US$22mil (RM99.4mil).
The report added that he and his wife bought the home for US$10mil (RM45.2mil) from Modern Family creator Steve Levitan in 2017 and later set the final selling price of the residence at US$17mil, making around US$7mil (RM31.6mil) in profits.
The sprawling 8,600 sq ft property has eight bathrooms and comes with a home gym, a fireplace-equipped living room, an eat-in kitchen with marble countertops, a library and a 20-seat cinema.
The outside area is just as impressive, with an in-ground trampoline, a large pool and many other amenities that provide plenty of shaded spots to shield one from the scorching sun.
Corden has moved back to the United Kingdom with his wife and three children after making the sale.
Last December, the comedian announced his departure from his long-running Late Late Show – which he had been hosting for eight years – as it was the "right thing to do" for his family.
"(My wife and I) are a long way from home and we really want our children to know what it's like to grow up in London... to have a solid relationship with their grandparents and that is time that you don't get back," he said.
Akouri-Shan's father Weijian is the executive Chairman of PAG, a leading alternative investment firm focused on the Asia Pacific region.
He graduated from the University Of California at Berkeley with a PhD in business administration and joined the billionaire club in March, as declared on Forbes.
