Malaysian teen to compete in K-pop talent search show 'Universe Ticket'

An 18-year-old Malaysian named Alyssa recently went viral after it was announced that she would be participating in the South Korean reality competition show, Universe Ticket.

Produced by SBS, the programme follows the journey of 82 girls competing for a spot in an upcoming K-pop group which will be managed by F&F Entertainment.

Out of the 82 trainees, only eight will be selected to debut in the new girl group. Contestants will advance based on public voting.

In an update on its official Instagram account, Universe Ticket released the profiles of all its trainees.

In Alyssa’s profile, it is written that she is from Malaysia with an ENFJ personality type according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).

Her words of resolution are: “Let’s make sure everyone remembers the name ‘Alyssa’!”

Though more information about Alyssa is yet to be disclosed, Astro Awani reported that she is also a fan of K-pop groups such as Fromis 9, EXO, NCT, The Boyz, Golden Child, Aespa and IVE.

Alyssa's profile post on Instagram has garnered over 13,500 likes and 670 comments at press time.

Many Malaysians have since been sending congratulatory messages wishing her luck and applauding her for representing the country on the global scale.

A handful of netizens have also voiced their excitement at seeing the young girl in action, adding that they would be voting for her too.
