Hong Kong actress Anita Chui has quashed rumours regarding her affair with Canadian businessman Bruce Rockowitz, the husband of late singer Coco Lee.

According to Sin Chew Daily, rumours of Chui, 35, being a third party in Lee’s marriage went rampant after photos of her with Rockowitz at an event resurfaced on social media.

Addressing the claims in an interview with Hong Kong’s Oriental Daily, Chui said the pictures were from a charity event she attended at the invitation of a top-ranking executive from Rockowitz’s company.

She also made it clear that she was not familiar with Rockowitz, and that they have never been in touch in private.

“I have only met Bruce a few times. I don’t have (his) contact number and we have never had any contact outside of events.

“The pictures taken together that day were just out of courtesy. It’s not just the two of us in the photos. There are other people too,” she added.

Lee tied the knot with Rockowitz in 2011 after dating for eight years.

Though the couple had no biological children together, the pop diva had two stepdaughter’s from her husband’s previous marriage.

According to reports, Lee and Rockowitz had been separated for more than two years at the time of the singer’s death.

It is alleged that Rockowitz had cheated on Lee in the later years of their marriage and that the two were due to sign divorce papers in July, though these claims have not been confirmed.

Lee, who struggled with depression, died on July 5 following a suicide attempt on July 2. She was 48.

Her elder sister Nancy confirmed that the singer’s funeral will take place on July 31 and Aug 1 at the Hong Kong Funeral Home in North Point.

“Public vigil will be held on July 31 between 6 and 10pm only. Thank you for your kind attention,” she said on social media.
