Former Hong Kong actor Vin Choi has done very well for himself since leaving TVB in 2014.
Shortly after his contract with the broadcaster expired, Choi moved to Foshan, China, where he found success in the food and beverage (F&B) industry.
In fact, the 39-year-old owned 10 rice noodle shops, several hotpot places and a cafe, which he set up with help from a few friends.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly... that is until the Covid-19 pandemic happened.
According to reports, Choi’s businesses took a huge blow during the pandemic and all his eateries – except his cafe – were forced to shut down.
Despite the unfortunate situation, the Aqua Heroes (2003) star is determined to revive his F&B business and has recently opened a stall in Guangzhou to sell chicken feet.
In a recent vlog uploaded on Douyin, the Chinese counterpart of TikTok, Choi can be seen starting a live stream to promote his new business.
Although he's been absent from showbiz for nearly 10 years, many people recognised the former actor and asked for photos, which he happily obliged.
A handful of netizens have since left comments praising Choi for his dedication and hard work.
Many also said that they will head over to his stall to support his business.
Choi’s journey in the entertainment industry began after he was crowned champion in a contest hosted by TVB Weekly in 2001.
He took on a few minor roles after joining a TVB artistes training course in 2002 and landed his first lead role in the 2004 drama, Sunshine Heartbeat.
Other dramas he has starred in include Forensic Heroes (2006), 7 Days In Life (2011), L'Escargot (2012) and Ruse Of Engagement (2014).
