Malaysian actress Puteri Sarah Liyana, who finalised her divorce from local director Syamsul Yusof on June 14, has denied pursuing a new romantic relationship.
Speculations of Puteri Sarah, 37, being romantically linked to someone surfaced on Monday (Sept 4) after she posted a photo of a man's hands on her Instagram Story.
In response to the rumours, Puteri Sarah said that the person in the photo was her business partner, Indonesian actor and entrepreneur Andi Arsyil.
"I went to Jakarta for a shoot but it was postponed due to a few complications. In the meantime, I was focused on my business.
"(Andi) is an actor and he’s currently focusing on his business. Coincidentally, we share common interests such as running a skincare and tudung business," the actress told mStar – The Star's Malay language news portal.
During the interview, Puteri Sarah made it clear that Andi, 35, is simply a close friend and business partner.
She also stressed that her meetup with the Semua Indah Karena Cinta actor was accompanied by her manager and children.
"I'm planning on starting a business in Malaysia and expanding it to Singapore and Brunei, so (Andi) is my business partner," she said.
Puteri Sarah married Syamsul, 39, in March 2014. The pair have two children together – Syaikhul Islam, six, and Sumayyah, four.
On Jan 16, Puteri Sarah filed for divorce from Syamsul on the grounds that there was no more understanding and prolonged shiqaq (disagreement) between them.
The divorce was filed 10 days after the Mat Kilau director announced on Jan 6 that he had married another woman, Ira Kazar, in Thailand.
