If you are a fan of the indie music scene, don’t miss out on the upcoming TapauFest which is set to take place on Oct 7 and 8, at Resort Tasik Raban, Lenggong, Perak.

The two-day event – which attracted some 3,000 people last year – promises some of the top indie artistes from the region.

It also pays tribute to the women with a line-up of female talents on stage, as well as those working behind-the-scene such as Newruul, the artist behind the festival's poster.

On Oct 7 – the first day of the festival – expect to see the new-generation “Midwest Emo” outfit Mascot; experimental dub reggae band Rub Of Rub from Indonesia; Force Vomit from Singapore; Malaysia’s supergroup Jemson and Indonesia's young balladeer, Nadin Amizah.

Day 2 takes off with The Jansen from Indonesia followed by Ipoh’s very own Muck and Thailand’s Door Plant.

Then Bayangan and Lomba Sihir get on stage, with Zee Avi closing the festival performing some of her well-known numbers as well as new ones like her 2020 single Good Things.

The musical acts start performing at 5pm and continues till night. But there are plenty of other things to do before that hour like checking out the nature and trying all the food from the various stalls.

There are also workshops planned, where one can “dive into indie art and community" or discover local indie shorts co-curated with Kakiseni.

Tickets are on sale with options of Solo Daily Ticket at RM175; Solo Weekend Ticket at RM330; and Geng Weekend Ticket at RM1,200
