Popular 1980s singer Datuk ND Lala, whose real name is Amir Amzah Salleh, has been put on blast by his ex-wife Fauziah Sarman on social media.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday (Sept 16), Fauziah, 55, claimed that ND Lala hasn't worked in years and has been relying on their eldest daughter, pop star Shila Amzah, to support the family.
“Ask yourself how many years have you not provided for me? How many years have you not worked but were still able to spend mornings till evenings playing golf and having fun with your new wife?
“You need to realise that the life we have now is built upon the hard work of a child who (never hesitated to provide) for the family,” she wrote.
Fauziah’s statement comes after ND Lala, 62, issued a statement in which he confirmed his marriage to Siti Munirah Abdul Ghani.
Despite his demands to stop calling Siti Munirah a homewrecker, Fauziah refused to retract her statement, saying: “What else can you call her if not a homewrecker?”
In her post, Fauziah alleged that ND Lala and Siti Munirah had already been married for eight years and not just in December 2022 as stated.
Despite her efforts to mend their broken marriage, Fauziah said that the divorce came as a relief. She added that she has moved on and will keep wishing her ex-husband happiness.
Fauziah and ND Lala tied the knot in 1989 and have four children together.
On Aug 8, Fauziah announced on social media that ND Lala had pronounced the divorce at Masjid Ar Rahman in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur on Aug 2, ending their 34-year marriage.
