The Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner divorce has taken an even more icky and tumultuous turn.

The pop star, 34, filed to dissolve the four-year marriage in Miami-Dade County courts Sept 5 and three weeks later, this split is looking anything but amicable.

The exes, who are no doubt racking up some serious legal bills, are now fighting over the important issue of where their two daughters should live.

Jonas wants Willa, three, and 14-month-old Delphine (the name was just revealed), to stay put in the United States. Turner prefers the kids go back with her to England, where she has family and a current TV project, Joan.

The Game Of Thrones star went as far as to file a lawsuit last week in New York, accusing her estranged husband of abducting the girls, alleging the singer refused to give back their kids’ passports.

In a statement to Page Six through his rep, the former boy bander vehemently denied the claims.

“Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and is of course also OK with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK,” says his rep, noting the children were born in Miami and are, therefore, American citizens.

Custody isn’t the only prickly issue. The 27-year-old British actress also claimed in legal documents she was blindsided about the DNCE heartthrob ending their marriage and only found out about the motion “through the media.”

But according to widespread reports, the two had been having trouble for months, even before flipping their Bay Point mansion for US$11mil (RM51.5mil). The final straw for Jonas was apparently something he saw or heard on doorbell camera footage.

As of Wednesday (Sep 27), per an interim consent order, neither star is able to leave the greater New York City area.

The Dade County docket lists an emergency motion for another hearing on the matter, set for 10am Friday via zoom.

Let’s hope they have a resolution things before winter comes. – Miami Herald/Tribune News Service
