The headlines surrounding Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s divorce might be anything but amicable, but the former spouses are speaking out together after reaching a temporary custody agreement through the holidays.
The Jonas Brothers member, 34, and Game Of Thrones star, 27, released a joint statement Tuesday (Oct 10) after news broke of the agreement surrounding daughters Willa, three, and Delphine, one.
“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents,” the pair said in a statement.
The pair’s agreement – which lasts until Jan 7 and follows mediation that began last week – allows Jonas to take the girls for Thanksgiving, while Turner will have custody over Christmas and New Year’s, according to court documents filed in New York.
Both stars are allowed to travel in the US or the UK on the agreed-upon dates, according to the documents obtained by Insider.
Jonas filed for divorce from Turner early last month, four years after they tied the knot.
Turner – who has since been seen out multiple times with Jonas’ ex, Taylor Swift – proceeded to sue him for the alleged wrongful retention of their girls in the States.
Jonas denied his estranged wife’s claims, including that she was only made aware of the divorce filing after reading the news. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
