Hong Kong actor Tony Leung has reunited with his Chungking Express (1994) co-star, Mandopop diva Faye Wong, and the Internet just can't get enough.

In a photo uploaded by Leung’s wife, actress Carina Lau, on Wednesday (Oct 25), Wong can be seen smiling happily as she held onto Leung’s arm.

“Long time no see,” wrote Lau, 57, in her Instagram post.

According to reports, this iconic reunion comes 19 years after the pair’s collaboration in the romantic drama movie 2046 (2004). Leung, 61, and Wong, 54, also starred opposite one another in the 2002 film Chinese Odyssey 2002.

The photo capturing the nostalgic moment has since received widespread attention, gaining over 71,500 likes and counting at press time.

Many netizens have left comments under the post, saying “California Dreamin’”.

If you’re unsure what that’s all about, it’s actually a song – performed by The Mamas & The Papas – that plays repeatedly in Chungking Express, where Leung and Wong star as lovers.

Several netizens said that they were surprised by the reunion and pleaded for the pair to upload more photos together. Meanwhile, others have also praised the pair for looking as elegant and charming as ever despite their age.

Chungking Express couple pairing ... I looped the film multiple times because of you two,” said one netizen.

Another also commented: “Classic! This is the strongest superstar combo.”

“Looking forward to seeing you guys work together again,” wrote another.

Lau and Wong are close friends and longtime mahjong buddies. According to Singapore news outlet 8days, Lau once said in an interview that she can easily tell when Wong has a good or bad hand.
